The Human SlaughterHouse Scenes from the War That Is Sure to Come Wilhelm Lamszus 9781444670295 Books
The style is florid and intentionally shocking but it is a good antidote to the romanticism of Ernst Jünger's 'Storm of Steel'. The author dealt in horrifying images of war rather than the more structured narrative of Remaque's 'Im Westen nichts Neues'.Product details

The Human SlaughterHouse Scenes from the War That Is Sure to Come Wilhelm Lamszus 9781444670295 Books Reviews
If you have a strong stomache, this is a good book! It gives you very detailed pictures in your head! War is horrible, I wish we could find a way to end it forever!
If I were reviewing this work on its literary merits, it would get maybe one star. Or one half if A-zon allowed such. But, wow, this is a school-teacher who quite disingenuously and precisely nailed the nature of modern warfare just as the storm clouds for the First World War were gathering. Thus, the curio value is high on the coming centennial of the war's outbreak. He tried to warn them...but they just wouldn't listen.
The style is florid and intentionally shocking but it is a good antidote to the romanticism of Ernst Jünger's 'Storm of Steel'. The author dealt in horrifying images of war rather than the more structured narrative of Remaque's 'Im Westen nichts Neues'.
